Innovation in Communications

Local government communications encompasses a wide range of vital responsibilities and at the most practical level includes providing accurate information about services to users and handling press inquiries. But communications also includes running promotional campaigns, leading behaviour change, managing crises whether natural or man-made, reputation management and internal comms. The cost of poor communications can be devastating to an authority’s reputation, both internally and externally.

Judges will be looking for examples of innovative local authority communication projects or campaigns or the successful handling of a crisis with results clearly evaluated.
